This position requires the following technical skills:
Essential:
· Technical Skills:
o 6+ years of experience in software testing and automation.
o Able to read, write, and critically review test and application code in more than one language, treating languages as interchangeable tools; sound engineering judgement matters more than mastery of any specific syntax (working knowledge of languages such as Python, JavaScript, or TypeScript is useful).
o Experience with test automation frameworks and tools (e.g., Playwright, Mocha), and with using AI coding assistants to accelerate and strengthen test development.
o A solid grasp of how distributed, cloud-hosted systems behave, including APIs, performance, resilience, and failure modes, and how to test them.
o Familiarity with test-driven development and CI/CD practices and tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, Github Actions).
o Strong analytical, first-principles problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills, with the agency to own problems end-to-end.
Desirable:
Experience with projects within the retail petroleum automation sector /payments systems
