Position Summary
We are seeking a Senior Python Developer to design, develop, test, and deploy scalable backend services, REST APIs, data-processing components, and automation solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on Python experience, solid API and SQL development skills, and experience deploying containerized applications in Azure or AWS environments.
This position is particularly suitable for a developer experienced in Python-based data applications, FastAPI services, cloud-native deployment, and AI/ML-enabled solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop scalable backend services and automation components using Python.
- Build REST APIs and microservices using FastAPI or Flask.
- Develop asynchronous processing, reusable endpoints, request validation, and structured error handling.
- Integrate Python services with enterprise APIs, databases, cloud platforms, and third-party systems.
- Create data-processing workflows using Pandas, NumPy, PySpark, and SQL.
- Write efficient queries and stored procedures for PostgreSQL, SQL Server, MySQL, or Oracle.
- Develop well-structured JSON request and response contracts.
- Implement authentication and authorization using OAuth 2.0, token-based security, and role-based access controls.
- Build automated unit, integration, and API tests using Pytest and Postman.
- Package and deploy services using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Implement CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or comparable tools.
- Deploy and support applications on Azure or AWS.
- Monitor application performance, troubleshoot production issues, and improve reliability.
- Participate in requirements analysis, architecture discussions, code reviews, Agile ceremonies, and release planning.
- Maintain technical documentation, API specifications, deployment instructions, and operational support guides.
- Collaborate with application, data, cloud, security, and product teams.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of software development, data engineering, automation, or related technical experience.
- 3+ years of hands-on Python development.
- Strong experience with FastAPI, Flask, or a comparable Python API framework.
- Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, reusable code design, and Python coding standards.
- Experience developing REST APIs and integrating external services.
- Strong SQL experience with PostgreSQL, SQL Server, MySQL, or Oracle.
- Experience with Pandas, NumPy, PySpark, or comparable data-processing libraries.
- Experience with Git, code reviews, testing, and CI/CD practices.
- Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience deploying solutions in Azure or AWS.
- Understanding of OAuth 2.0, API security, input validation, and role-based access.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum delivery environments.
- Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and stakeholder-communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Azure AKS, ACR, Azure DevOps, or Azure ML.
- Experience with AWS S3, Glue, EMR, SageMaker, or ECR.
- Familiarity with Kafka, Airflow, Spark, and ETL pipelines.
- Experience with AI/ML platforms, LLM integration, RAG, LangChain, or MCP.
- Familiarity with MLflow and production model deployment.
- Experience building applications in regulated or enterprise environments.
- Knowledge of application monitoring, logging, and observability practices.
- Master’s degree in computer science, data science, analytics, engineering, or a related discipline.
