Job Description
- We are looking for a Senior Database Engineer with 12 to 16 years of hands-on experience in designing, deploying, and managing large-scale distributed database systems in a cloud-native environment based out of Pune.
- The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Apache Cassandra, including cluster configuration, data modeling, performance tuning, compaction strategies, and multi-datacenter replication for high-availability production workloads.
- Strong proficiency in NoSQL databases such as MongoDB and Redis is required, including schema design, indexing strategies, replication, sharding, and caching layer optimization to support high-throughput applications.
- The role demands extensive experience with Kubernetes-based container orchestration, including deploying and managing stateful database workloads using StatefulSets, PersistentVolumes, Operators, and Helm charts on Kubernetes clusters.
- Candidates must be comfortable leveraging AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot to accelerate scripting, automation, and infrastructure-as-code tasks related to database management and operations.
- Experience with database monitoring, alerting, and observability using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or equivalent platforms is essential to ensure SLA compliance and proactive incident resolution.
- The candidate should demonstrate a strong understanding of data security practices including encryption at rest and in transit, role-based access control, and compliance requirements for distributed NoSQL environments.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills are required to work closely with platform engineering, application development, and SRE teams in an agile delivery environment at our Pune office.
